How To Get Started

We've put together a list of materials you will need in order to run voter registration at your church. Obtaining these materials ahead of time will help ensure a successful event.

You will need to print off these forms ahead of time and have them on hand the day of your event.

IMPORTANT DATES

• October 17 last day to register to vote in the general election
 
• October 18 advanced ballots for general election begin mailing
 
• October 23 early voting in the election office begins at 8 AM
 
• November 7 election day polls open at 6 AM and close at 7 PM

Table, Decorations (such as balloons), Voter Registration Signage (create your own), Pens

Day of Event

Set up table in commons area
Decorate table with balloons, streamers, etc...
When filling out the form ask them to show their drivers license.
Inform them that they will need to show your driver's license when you vote.
After the forms are filled out, the hosting location MUST hand carry them to their local election office.

What do you do with the forms?
Citizen fills out form at the table (ask to see Driver License). Citizen leaves form with registration. Citizen completes form for advanced ballot. Host MUST hand carry them to their local election office
What if they don’t have a Driver License?
Can accept other legal forms of ID (Passport, or non-driving licence)
What is the Advance Ballot form?
Ask citizen if they are unavailable on voting day, citizen can fill out application for advanced voting. Ballot will be mailed a few weeks before the day. Host MUST hand deliver them to their local election office
